There are several lakes located within a short drive from the metro area that offer boating. skiing and fishing as well as breathtaking scenery found nowhere else in the world.
Phoenix is home to many professional sports teams and events. The NHL Coyotes, NFL Cardinals, MLB Diamondbacks and NBA Suns all call Phoenix home. Each spring the Cubs, Royals, A’s, Giants, Rangers, Mariners and Padres all come to the Phoenix area to get ready for the regular season, and the Phoenix Open Golf Tournament and Barrett-Jackson car auction are held here annually. The new University of Phoenix Stadium plays host annually to the BCS Fiesta Bowl, and in early 2008 it was the site of Super Bowl XLII.In addition to many professional sporting events, you can take in NCAA sports at Arizona State University.

The Valley also offers museums that feature classic works of art in addition to unparalleled exhibits of southwestern Indian culture and history.
The weather, affordable cost of living, and location has attracted a plethora of fortune 500 companies to locate major operation and manufacturing centers in the Valley. Motorola, Honeywell, Intel, American Express, Discover Card and USAA are just a few of the companies that employ thousands of people in the Phoenix area.
